Frost Series / FRONT
The new series Frost by Front is inspired by the Scandinavian climate and the beauty of ice forming on the outside of windows in the winter. The partially frosted glass gives the jug and glasses a sense of Nordic cold and refreshment.

Afas modular furniture by Lina Alorabi
“Egyptian art, both modern and ancient, is filled with repetitive geometric patterns. Whether its zigzag line representing the waves of the Nile or repeated turned wood latticework that create mashrabeya. The same repetitive concept is used to make humble vegetable crates from palm fronds.
The Afas modular table can be used as a side or coffee table. It can also be stacked to create shelving. The table is made to be used however the user wishes.”

Seriously, is there a more fulfilling endeavor than this? To bring pleasure to women is my way of helping to make the world a better place. The way I see it, sexually satisfied women means happier relationships, which means happier couples, marriages, and children, and eventually… peace on earth. And I’m only half joking.

Opinion: there’s no excuse for excluding women from the design conversation in Milan, says Kieran Long who offers a ready-made Rolodex for a fairer male/female split.
This column is intended as a service to design, and to address a practical problem that is in acute focus during Milan furniture fair week. The problem is the shocking lack of women designers who are allowed to participate in product and furniture design, either as designers or voices in the discussion about the field.
Kieran Long provides us with a list of established and upcoming female designers while pointing out the gender gap in product design.
